The music room is decorated with fiddles, a violin uke from the 1950's, banjos, a saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, an accordion and an organ.
Also on display are record players and a Sparton radio. The receipt for the radio is from 1930 and was sold to Nellie Whitmore (Lawrence's grandmother) for $260. That's equivalent to approximately $5,070 today! Nellie milked cows and sold the butter to earn enough money to buy the radio. This was the first radio of its kind in the Mohawk Valley in Oregon (near Eugene). Unfortunately, today's electrical outlets and power are not equipped to run the musical electronics from the 1930's so this radio cannot be played for guests at this time.
